Catarina Cortes Conservation
After a few years working independently and perhaps as a consequence of the pandemic, I felt the need to work closely with those who safeguard our heritage, those who study it and those who create art every day and help us better understand our history and ourselves.
The atelier CCC was born from this idea. The triple C continues the previous name but also reflects its objectives and lines of action, which are the conservation and restoration of heritage and the promotion of knowledge and artistic creation - Creation, Comprehension, Conservation.
Mission
"Our mission is to save heritage for future generations and connect people through art and heritage. We aspire to be a catalyst for preservation, creativity and knowledge, and to be a meeting place and reference. We aim to inspire and educate, fostering a deeper appreciation of the diverse histories and cultures that shape the world around us."
Values
There are 3 main values that define the way the company that was born from Catarina Cortes Conservação operates. Thus, in addition to the objectives defined in the 3 Cs - Creation, Comprehension and Conservation - there are 3 others - Proximity, Partnership and Sharing - which define the main values that underpin this company. Proximity to our customers. Working in partnership to find complete solutions. And sharing, because everything is done more efficiently when growth is fostered in a community and network.
Proximity and Partnership:
The atelier CCC focuses on providing a service of complete solutions tailored to the needs of its clients, and for this a relationship of proximity and partnership is essential.
The atelier CCC creates and maintains partnerships with different institutions. It welcomes and encourages dialogue and collaboration between artists, curators and all stakeholders in the Arts and Heritage.
In this way, we work to promote and involve the community, in a place where ideas are exchanged, opportunities are created and interdisciplinary approaches are encouraged in projects of conservation, appreciation and cultural promotion.
We believe that it is through collaboration that we can find the solutions that best suit and respond to each client and each situation. Only by working together can we provide the best service.
Share:
We are committed to promoting continuous learning and growth, encouraging and creating opportunities for courses, lectures and research. We also invite the participation of the many voices of those who are connected to the arts, whether through enjoyment, creation, or their study and conservation.
We believe that a company can only grow as a community, promoting ongoing dialogue and with an updated and comprehensive vision.
Cultural diversity:
At atelier CCC we promote inclusion, equality and trust. We are committed to creating an environment where diverse voices are heard, where respect is promoted in all aspects and inclusive practices and conditions are provided.
Sustainability:
We seek sustainable practices to ensure the preservation of Cultural Heritage for future generations and at the same time minimize the environmental impact of conservation activities.
Excellence:
We believe that excellence can only be achieved with strategic planning that reflects accountability towards our mission and we are committed to doing so in a sustainable, ethical and transparent manner.
About me
Catarina Cortes Pereira
Conservator-restorer since 2007, I have complemented my training and experience by traveling everywhere.
In these travels, I have met other people with different ways of seeing conservation and the meanings of what heritage is, I have had good opportunities and I have learned about other realities.
Everything has contributed to the construction of an approach to conservation that is based on working in cooperation, proximity and sharing.
Taking the step of opening a atelier, which is more than just a conservation and restoration workshop, was a natural decision. It is also a challenge to myself. For me, it is the way I found to keep myself updated. Opening a space that welcomes other voices and other knowledge.
And, above all, it is having a place where all the actors in the discourse and practice of conservation and appreciation of cultural heritage have a voice, be it the conservator-restorer, other heritage professionals who care for it, or the communities and public who enjoy it.
